A Question of Money
Let's talk about money today.
Let's look at the difference between an expense and an investment. Imagine you want to buy a product or a service. You might think of it in terms of its price. You might think: "How much does it cost? Can I afford it? Is it cheap or expensive?" All of these questions refer to the product or service as an expense. An expense is something that gives no return, it's a liability. Examples of expenses are things like rent, maintenance, insurance, electricity, groceries and clothes.
An investment, on the other hand, involves putting capital (but also effort and/or time) into something today in order to increase its value over time. If we're speaking about money, an investment produces wealth through compound interest, which enables it to grow exponentially.
This is where cost or price needs to be distinguished from value. We talk about the cost or the price of goods (products) and services, but we rarely talk about their value, because value is subjective, it's "the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something."
If I ask you how much it's worth to be able to use English confidently, fluently and naturally, what would you say? You've probably thought about most of these, but feeling comfortable in English might have the following value for you:
✅ being in a position to receive better offers of employment (and improving the quality of your life as a result)
✅ being able to travel more confidently
✅ being a better communicator
✅ being able to socialise more freely, make friends, and learn about different cultures and customs from around the world
✅ boosting your brain and memory power
✅ enhancing your knowledge
✅ having more direct access to join the global conversation
There's more, but one other subtle, yet just as valuable reason for investing in English training is that not investing and not doing the work results in the loss of the above opportunities.
In other words, moving towards better overall competency in English is not the sum of the amount you invest in learning and acquiring it. It is something that cannot be measured in terms of money because incorporating English changes and expands who you are, it is immeasurable and priceless.
There are many ways to achieve proficiency, and some are more efficient and produce better results than others, but having the support of a clear path and an experienced guide is always a good and solid indicator of success. That's where my program comes in. Are you ready to set a direction for yourself and get started?
It's your turn. Let's talk. Book a complimentary call to speak about where you are, where you want to be, and let's discuss the best option for you to become the user of English that you dream of and imagine yourself to be.
